Today, I tested positive for COVID-19. My symptoms are minor nasal congestion and sporadic headaches but honestly, I have felt worse with a sinus infection. I have felt several emotions since learning the results and it has helped me to understand how others are feeling at this time. Mostly frustration when I had to pack up my computer and head home to work when I felt perfectly fine.
In just two days, the COVID-19 positivity rate increased from 22.05% to 36.75% in Chesterfield County based on the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) website.
Currently, we have had six (6) additional IL employees (counting me) and one (1) additional IL resident who have tested positive for COVID-19 since the January 3, 2022 memo. They are quarantined at home with minor symptoms or no symptoms at all. We have completed all of the contact tracings of residents and employees and have notified those who were potentially exposed.
We do look forward to seeing you in the dining rooms next week, The Bistro opens on January 10, 2022, and Oscar’s on January 12, 2022. As an extra precaution, visitors will not be allowed in the dining rooms at this time until the positivity rate in the county starts to decline. Please wear a mask in the dining rooms and lounge unless you are eating or drinking.
Please remember to contact your doctor and then the Wellness Nurses if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms: sore throat, severe lingering headache, sinus/head pressure, head congestion, runny nose, nausea, cough, and fatigue. Also, contact our Wellness Nurses if you have been exposed to anyone who has tested positive for COVID.
We appreciate your support as we continue to navigate through this challenging pandemic.
