We were informed this morning that a visitor that is fully vaccinated has tested positive for COVID-19. The visitor was onsite yesterday and visited with two residents. The residents, who are vaccinated, tested negative and will be monitored and quarantined for ten days. We are in the process of completing the contact tracing and will notify all other persons that were exposed.
Due to this positive case and the increase in breakthrough cases, we are going to require that all visitors, whether unvaccinated or vaccinated, wear a mask at all times during their visit with residents.
We are also revising our screening questions upon entering our facilities regarding traveling, if you have traveled out of the state of Virginia within the last 14 days, you will be required to be tested for COVID-19 before entering the building.
In regards to our vaccination mandate, please remember that all contractors or companies that are hired privately by families or residents that interact with residents will be required to provide proof of full vaccination by October 1, 2021. i.e. Durable medical equipment companies.
As the nation experiences a significant spike in cases related to the delta variant, we would ask everyone to please follow the CDC guidelines of washing your hands regularly, wearing a mask and practicing social distancing. And for those who are not vaccinated, we would ask you again to please reconsider for the protection of all of our residents.
