On Thursday, May 13, 2021, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated its mask recommendations; however, this guidance does not apply to Health Care settings. We did receive an update from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) that new/readmit residents that are fully vaccinated will no longer be required to quarantine for the 14 day observation period. We continue our current core principles of infection control.
We are very excited to report the positivity rate on the CMS website for Chesterfield County as of 5/11/21 is 4.6%. We are encouraged by the decrease and are making changes daily for our residents.
Currently, we are allowing fully vaccinated entertainers to return. All Dining venues are open and we have returned to communal dining. Small group activities have resumed for our residents. There is no greater joy for all of the Brandermill Woods Team than to see the residents’ faces light up as they join their friends for activities and dining. Please checkout the upcoming June calendars for The Haven and Assisted Living/Memory Care on the website.
Our current visitation program that began on April 30, 2021, is going well. We must continue to consider how the number of visitors per resident at one time and the total number of visitors in the facility at one time (based on the size of the building and physical space) may affect the ability to maintain the core principles of infection prevention. Therefore, we will continue to require that all indoor and outdoor visits be scheduled.
To schedule visits for a resident who resides in our Nursing facility, The Haven, please go to our website www.brandermillwoods.com home page and click the pop-up on the bottom left to schedule an appointment.
The Florida Room is our designated indoor location, and you can enter the building through The Haven entrance. For our Assisted Living and Memory Care communities, please continue to email Trisha Pedersen at tpedersen@brandermillwoods.com to schedule a visit.
We appreciate all the support from our residents and families. Please refer to the Status update dated April 29, 2021, for the current visitation program.
