To all Independent Living Community residents:
As I look back at the memo that was distributed on December 23, 2020, and the one I am writing today, there are similarities however major differences. COVID-19 is the subject of both, and both memos intend to inform you of the latest positive COVID-19 cases. This year as I write the memo, my heart is not as heavy. We are trained for this; we have the confidence that the vaccinations will keep us from getting as sick if we do contract the virus. What a difference a year has made with this pandemic. We were hoping to be “back to normal,” but at least we have seen progress in vaccines and treatment.
As of today, we have two (2) employees who have tested positive for COVID-19 and both are quarantined at home. Three (3) of our Independent Living residents have tested positive for COVID-19. The residents are quarantined at home for 10 days from the date of test. We have completed all of the contact tracing of residents and employees who were potentially exposed. They have been tested, and all tested negative.
We regret that we have had to cancel some of our favorite activities and events, and we appreciate your understanding. Your patience and support are welcomed as we go back to requiring wearing masks. Please continue to follow the social distancing of six (6) feet and washing hands. Anyone who has not had the booster is still required to wear a KN95 mask or higher.
We are seeing symptoms of sore throat, severe lingering headache, sinus/head pressure, head congestion, and nausea. If you experience any of these symptoms, please contact your doctor and then the Wellness Nurses.
We will observe the Christmas holiday tomorrow for employees, and there will be limited employees on site.
Merry Christmas!
