To all Health Care Community Residents and Family Members:
Thank you for everything you do to protect yourself and others from getting COVID-19.
If you took the important step of getting vaccinated, you may be eligible for a booster shot to stay protected against COVID-19 starting at 6 months after the initial vaccination.
As of September 2021, only the Pfizer vaccine has been approved for a booster, and vaccines should not be mixed from your original vaccination.
According to the CDC, you may be eligible to receive a booster shot at least 6 months after vaccination if you are:
· 65 years and older
· 18+ and have underlying medical conditions
· 18+ and work in high-risk settings, including Long-Term Care
· 18+ and live in high-risk settings, including Long-Term Care
Brandermill Woods has partnered with Buford Road Pharmacy to provide on-site COVID-19 vaccinations for residents at our Health Care community, The Haven, Assisted Living and Memory Care communities, free of charge.
The vaccine clinic on October 26, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. will offer COVID-19 booster shots to eligible residents and staff.
Facility staff will be contacting family members to obtain consent for our residents to receive the Pfizer vaccine booster. The vaccination FAQ sheet will be available at the clinic.
COVID-19 vaccines are an important tool to help stop the virus. However, even after vaccination, everyone will need to continue following CDC recommendations for masks, hand washing and social distancing that keep everyone safe.
