As National Golf Month, August is the time when many courses offer discounts and the driving ranges become a flurry of activity. If you are a seasoned player, you know the joy of getting up early for a day on the course or squeezing nine holes into your busy schedule.
But if you’ve never played before, it’s never too late to start! While your first few rounds might be a little green, gaining confidence is par for the course. At Brandermill Woods, many of our residents love hitting the local courses—and we encourage everyone to try new activities as part of your active and fulfilling retirement.
If you’re up to it, here are a few of our local courses you can visit for National Golf Month:
- Brandermill Country Club: For starters, all residents have membership to the Brandermill Country Club. Perfect your swing just in time for our 25th Annual Golf Tournament on October 6. It’s also a great way to help raise funds for our Foundation which directly supports and enriches the lives of our residents and their families. Find out more about participating in or sponsoring this year’s tournament here.
- Birkdale Golf Club: Another local course included with your membership to Brandermill Country Club. Located 15 minutes from campus, Birkdale offers another opportunity to challenge yourself to nine or eighteen holes of golf.
- Public courses: There are many public courses near campus that you can try including Providence Golf Club, Windy Hill Golf Course and Independence Golf Club. In most cases, you can even book your tee in advance right on the website.
Join us here at Brandermill for these and more opportunities to bond over shared interests and do more of what you love. Contact us at (804) 744-1173 to learn more about our community.
